The Educational and Social Studies Institute, established from the European Foundation Society and Education, is specialized in conducting educational studies of a legal, political, economic and sociological nature, in order to provide a think-tank and analysis service for public institutions, organizations and bodies at a local and international level.
The main objective of the Institute is to provide ideas that help education and training managers and promoters in the decision-making process, on a basis grounded in social research; in analysis of current policies and educational models; in the guidelines and recommendations issued by the institutions of the European Union; and in the demands put forwards by the public and by the associations that represent them.
The Institute's area of action is also defined by its objective to act as a forum, with the aim of allowing educational administrations and the civil society to relate with each other in the field of education; and by its intention to actively take part in socio-educational debate and dialogue.

The high-priority fields of work and scientific research that the Institute undertakes contribute to offering a general overview of education from a multidisciplinary perspective, organized from the different departments, which at present converge both in the design of European educational policies and systems, and in the social debate regarding the principles and values that define democratic citizenship.
Socioeducational research represents the basis and purpose of the European Foundation Society and Education's activity. Through its Centres and areas of analysis, it pursues its foundational objectives by means the offer in training, which it presents and renews every year, by means of its publications and the advice it provides to bodies and organizations. The Project Management Department provides the technical-administrative assistance necessary for implementing, monitoring, coordinating and evaluating the work.
